Hi, I have 5 eight week old silkies, and I bought them straight run. Of course by now I have my suspicions but with silkies its so hard to tell! Anyway the ones I suspect to be hens always seem more interested in the treats I bring them, they always seem to eat more. So I was just wondering if there was any correlation or if my suspicions are wrong. Thanks!

Can't say I've paid attention, but my hens are rather greedy. My rooster will let them eat and eat at feeding time. Not having nearly as much himself. Often I'll hold a treat for him and he'll let the ladies have it, or he'll take it and drop it for them.

Thanks, mine seem to do the same thing. The (maybe) hens will follow the food around any where but I'll hold a grape cut in half right in front of a (maybe) rooster and he'll just step away and he kind of seems to say "ladies first" :)
