Do hens stop laying after 1 year?

SO I am slightly concerned about this. Someone said that layers stop laying after 1 year. Is that true?

No, they don't stop laying. Most go through a molt about that time but after their molt they'll continue to lay although most never lay as many eggs as they do their first year.
