Do hot chickens = grumpy chickens?

It's hot (95F), again. I work hard to keep the chickens as cool as possible, but I've noticed their attitudes shoot up along with the thermostat. A pair that had been getting along start to bicker again. A new bully emerges. It always seems to be tied to these super hot days.

Is this a known phenomenon?

I haven't noticed that myself during heatwaves. Correlation does not equal causation so it might just be a coincidence. Make sure they all have access to shade and fresh water and other cooling methods in case that might be the issue. That being said, I know I get grumpy when it is hot and especially when it was +100F in our house with no A/C at which I was super angry and irritable so it is possible that this is the same thing that is happening with your chickens. If you aren't used to getting consistent hot temperatures then that might also aggravate the issue too.
