Should I do the deep litter method in the summer? I read that it's not good because it produces heat and then it makes it even worse for the chickens to cool off. I already have a problem trying to keep them cool.
Any advice?

Deep Litter is a cold composting method that doesn't produce significant heat the way a hot compost pile does.

It's excellent in hot weather because the composting reaction digests the poop and prevents odor -- though you will need to make sure to keep enough litter in the run because it reacts faster in hot, wet weather.
