Do I have a "broken" rooster?

One suggestion that I have for you is, be satisfied that your pullets are friendly. Do not try to turn your rooster into a friend. As a matter of fact, when you are out and about, see to it that he moves out of your way. He should give deference to you regarding where you position yourself. Never walk around him. Instead, make him move when you're on the way to the food dish with treats. A good rooster is a wonderful thing. But, IMO, good roosters don't always just happen. They require a bit of training. It sounds like you have a good roo on your hands. A bit of training will turn him into an exceptional roo!
