Do I have a broody hen?

Hi all,

One of my girls has been spending a lot of time in the coop over the last couple of days. She seems healthy (comb is red, not puffing up etc) and when she is outside will peck around and forage before taking herself back to the coop. I've tried to check her under carriage to see if its warm and got a sharp peck for my efforts..

We have never had a broody hen before so this is new to me.

A truly broody hen will sit in a nest about 23 or more hours a day. Is she doing that?

Here are my go-to signs of a broody:
Is she on nest most the day and all night?
When you pull her out of nest and put her on the ground, does she flatten right back out into a fluffy screeching pancake?
Does she walk around making a low cluckcluckcluckcluckcluck(ticking bomb) sound on her way back to the nest?

If so, then she is probably broody and you'll have to decide how to manage it.
