do i have a male mallard duckling

i got 3 mallard ducklings a few day ago and they are a little over a month old and one of them is tarting to form a white ring around its neck does that mean it's a boy

I'm not sure about colourings, but i heard that if it's a boy, it quacks (loud) and if its a girl they tend to be quiet. But that isn't official it could just be gossip

It's actually the other way round, females are very loud and males are quiet! With colours, once they get the adult colours through (Fluff -> Juvenile feathers -> Adult feathers) you'll be able to tell. Males and females both look the same during the first two stages.​
