This is Sunny. It's already been determined that Sunny is a pullet. But guessing her breed has stumped everyone so far. I had her and the other chicks outside today and I happened to notice that her tail is in almost completely now, and she holds it high when she walks too, and the wings drop, just like a Serama! I am really hoping that's what she is. Am I right? Did I luck out and get a Serama?

Is she a Serama? She is really tiny too.

I got her from the assorted Bantams bin at TSC last month. They order from Mt. Healthy which doesn't really list what breeds they carry on their site. It just says "assorted bantams". But I know they have Silkies, OEGBS, Sebrights, EE's, d'Uccles, and Quail Antwerps, because those I've gotten out of those bins before. But I'm thinking she's a Serama.

Edited cause I put in the wrong hatchery. Dunno what I was thinking...lol!

I really, really doubt that you have a Serama. I'm guessing that you probably have a Japanese bantam or an Old English Game bantam.

Then she could be a Japanese with the long legs, right? She doesn't carry herself like an OEGB. Darn it, I was hoping she was a Serama. I did originally think Japanese too. But I wasn't sure cause of those long legs. She's a little standoffish too, which seems like a Japanese trait. Oh well, guess I'll have to wait for my Seramas...

Thank you. She was the tiniest chick in the brooder for a LONG time, then I hatched out a super tiny fellow that is a Silkie mix, and guessing from how tiny it is, it's mama is probably an OEGB. And it's STILL super tiny. It finally started growing this past week. I kid you not, it stayed so tiny for the first few weeks that it could have still fit inside the shell it hatched from! But now my little Sunny towers over that chick, even though she's still tiny. Her colors threw me too. She's mostly white, but with some brown wing feathers. Do Japanese make good broodies? I hate having just one of any breed. I guess now I'll have to find some more Japanese to put in with her, lol!
