Colonel and Duchess keep scaring me when there are nights where I forget to put them in their coop. I'll up around 4 or 5am and they'll be out in the yard.
Already hate myself for forgetting those nights.

Should I just continue putting them in their coop or will they learn?

Any advice or tips are welcome!

How old are they? Is it a new coop/location?
Either of those you will need to put them in, most of the time within a week they learn they need to go in.
Colonel is almost 10 weeks old while Duchess is almost 8 weeks old. They currently live with 3 BO pullets but will be separated soon.
The ducks were put outside to live when Duchess was 4 wks and Colonel was 6 wks so they've been living outside for almost 4 weeks now.

I’d remember some how to put them up so one morning you don’t come out to a blood bath. Set your alarm on your phone as a reminder.
Wish I could but alarms don't work for me.
Also currently I'm up all night until 8am and then sleep for 2 hours. Been trying to fix my sleep schedule to no success.

Put the ducks up same time your hens go to roost. They’ll settle down. Once my chickens start going in for the night which is around 5 on my Muscovys are next then my Runners so everyone is up an locked In by 7pm. Get in a routine of getting fresh water for them in the early evening so your out side to make sure they are locked up.

We found our just recently what can happen if we can’t keep our birds safe one of my old english game hens decided to make a nest under one of the goose houses. No way we could get her out it was too low to the ground an too heavy to move, well we couldn’t get her out but we’re assuming a mink could because they are small enough to get through 1” spaces. She was killed.
