Do I need a heat lamp?

I have a broody hen sitting on a clutch of eggs. But the eggs were mailed to me and didn’t develop. So the person I got the eggs from are going to send me 1 day old chicks. I’m going to swap the eggs for the chicks. I’ll do this at night when mom hen is asleep and she will wake up and just think the eggs hatched. But while I’m waiting for night...will the chicks need a heating lamp? They will be in my house in a spare bathroom away from everyone.

Chicks will need to be kept warm until fostered. Depending upon how long they are in transit they may also need to be fed and watered.

So even if it’s for 6hrs or less? They day they arrive I’ll be placing them that evening/night
