do i need i poop board

do you think i should build in a poop board in the coop im building? The roosts are going to be for silkies so they are very low to the floor and im not sure that a board will fit. can you show me some picks of you poop boards and dropping pits? im not quite sure on what the dropping pits are. is one way better then the other?

You don't "need" a poop board or tray, but you might find one makes keeping the coop clean easier. It's just a matter of preference. I use a plastic boot tray (picture on my BYC page). I pull the tray out in the morning and dump the contents in our composter.
