Do I need to change her wing-wrap?

My six week old girl has a hurt wing. I brought her to a vet and he wrapped her to stabilize it. (I elected not to sedate her and have x-rays taken so I don't know exactly what is wrong with it except that the injury is right at the shoulder. Her wing was just hanging there, she couldn't or wouldn't move it) He said it should remain wrapped for 3-4 weeks. It has been a little over a week and the wrap is still in great condition.

I have 2 questions- first, she is still growing. Do I need to change the wrap at some point? Will it get too tight?

Second- she is begging to be with her brothers! I have them separated with hardware cloth so they can see and interact with each other. Last night I gave in and put them together to snuggle because she was crying so pathetically! She quieted right down and they didn't hurt her. When do you think she can go back with them full time? They don't peck at her wrap, but they tend to pounce on each other and I don't want to aggravate her injury.

I can't tell you what is best or what you should do, but if it were me, I would carefully unwrap and rewrap it to be sure it is not too tight, and I would leave her with her friends. Her being where she wants to be should help her heal.

I think it is best too that they be together if they are not hurting her. I would change the wrap after each week. Just be very careful not to pull too much. Soak it with warm water or put oil (mineral) on it to get if off without much pulling. Rewrap it but not too tightly. Good luck.

The wrap is the kind that sticks to itself so hopefully it will not be too tricky to get off. I am a little nervous about my ability to recreate the sling since it goes around her chest as well as around the wing. I didn't get to observe when the vet put it on.

I took Sweetie Pie to the vet to have the wrap changed on Saturday. I am leaving on vacation tomorrow and I did not want to worry about trying it myself and doing a bad job. Well, she was fine when I first got her home and then yesterday, BOOM... all of a sudden she can't walk again!

I absolutely can not get her back there... it is almost an hour away, in the opposite direction from work. So it looks like I wasted fifty bucks and won't have the peace of mind that I wanted. Does anyone have any tips for re-wrapping? I found a couple of links online but I am concerned about stressing her with my ineptitude.

If worse comes to worst, my DH can take her to the vet Weds, but it will be majorly inconvenient.
