My coop and run for my chickens and ducks have fence all the way around it and 4 ft on the bottom my run is 24x24 with a flooting 4ft wide coop on top the bottom of the run is fenced n 4ft also so there is there is 8ft of fence on bottom plus there is am electric fence around it.. The chickens go n there coop every night but my ducks on the other hand never go n and it is very frustrating to have to go out and chase 9 ducks around this pin i was wondering if i should do run around or just leave them out of a night time???

Hi,
Because of predators in our area, we make sure every night to secure all our animals (chickens, rabbits, goats). And while we've never had any trouble with human-type predators, that possibility also exists, so everything is locked up every night. Like the old saying goes...Better safe than sorry!

My chickens are always inside the coop before sunset, but my ducks are another story! I go out each night at 9pm and tell them to get into the coop. They quack in protest, and the they all line up and make the trek up the ramp into the coop. I then shut the door and lock everything up. While it sounds like you have a secure setup, I agree with NorthFLChick, and better safe than sorry.
