Hello,

I'll be up in Alaska soon and haven't had any chickens up there. Do I need to worry about the eagles snatching them when they free range?

Simply put, yes. It depends on where will be in Alaska but you will have foxes, weasles, badgers, bears, hawks, eagles, wolves, and I am sure I am forgetting a few critters that would just love to snack on your poultry. We lived ther for 4 years and wild life ther is not timid. Fortify! It is beautiful and wild. Enjoy!.

Rats. I've spent several summers up there but haven't brought the chickens. I was hoping if I cooped them at night that they'd be ok.

I've dealt with fox and small predators before. I'll be in the Kenai area and yes we have all
of the predators you mentioned. I hate to keep them cooped and was thinking the trees would keep them fairly protected. Perhaps I will leave them with friends here...

Thank you!
