I have a small flock of 5 ladies. They are about 6 months old. Today my barred rock was clucking so loudly I ran out to see if a hawk was in the area. Everything was fine. Then when I was cleaning the coop she came running up to the pen

again clucking loudly. I quickly finished thinking that she wanted privacy to lay her egg. She didn't go inside. A bit later she was on my porch again with the loud complaints. I picked her up and calmed her down and just sat with her till she went off on her own. I noticed her in the nesting box a little later and thought eveything was ok. But again she came up to my porch complaining. I sat with her again and noticed her bum was a bit dirty .Hopefully I can attach a pict. Is there something amiss?

Oh Lordy what they can put us through when they first start to lay. It can drive ya crazy. They are a bit confused and I think some just get a little freaked out their first time or two. I had Dottie my EE run to one corner of the yard then back to the back doorstep then into and out of three different egg boxes. I just kept and eye on her in case she’d be egg bound. She laid very late in the day... for what ever reason she was high drama!!! Make sure she’s eating/drinking. Once they get into a routine they calm down. Until then let them entertain you! Best wishes

Fluffier butted birds often get poop stuck to their feathers, they should preen it off.
If they have continuously loose poops it can get bad back there.
If you notice it continuing and/or getting worse, take a look and maybe give her a trim.
You don't want to experience fly strike.
