Do I take my broody hen out of broody jail or keep her for a little longer?

Day 3 of broody jail and my chickens behaviour has improved but she screams and puffs up when I enter the room (didn’t do this in the morning but did for the rest of the day) but she stops when I’m approaching her and goes “bok bok bok” and when I reached her she stops (and actually likes me staying with her and gets kinda upset after I leave) and she basically acts normal when I sit next to her she has the broody voice but talks normally and sometimes breaks into her normal voice , is she ready to go out? I was thinking of keeping her for one more day but I don’t wanna leave her in there for longer than necessary i know Its based on if she sits on the eggs again but I want some opinions so I don’t accidentally mess this up

It sounds like she is snapping out of it. As a precaution, you could leave her in jail for the rest of the day and try letting her back in with the others just before roost time. If she goes for the roost instead of the nest, she is hopefully all reset!

This is how I do it, an hour or two before roost time.
If you find her back in a nest during lock up after dark, back in to the crate.

She finished her 3 days and is doing better playing eating etc she didn’t go to the nest but then I saw her going on soft things And stuff idk if she was trying to make a nest or not but I removed her she also bite me when I was trying to put ice under her and a few other times (which isn’t completely normal for her) her voice has gone “broodier?” But switched to normal sometimes Her feet/body was a little hot but then went normal didn’t check again now and I did see her sitting on a chair and she screamed and puffed when I came she’s stopped soon after thoughand seems to be excited about going out rather than staying in the coop/nest and shes likes me sitting with her, does she just need some time or back to broody jail? Her behavior has improved but she seems to keep switching from normal to broody I think she needs some more time in broody jail but I don’t like putting her there if I don’t need to so i wanna know if this is normal and she needs some time to Congo back to normal

I typically leave my girls in the broodantry for 4 days..min .. some 5 .. when she stops puffing up all the way then I know that she's pulled out of it. I typically like to put 2x4s underneath the dog cage. This helps get more air underneath her vent and pulls them out. There are some that will do 3 days but I find it's just easier to do 4 days. I've had to pull them back out of the nesting boxes too many times with only 3 days. I have a Coachin who likes to get real Broody all the time and I have to do it 5 days with her.. lol .. she is really determined. She will sit with no eggs underneath her. LOL and is the one that regularly gets broody.

I find 4 days is a normal minimum time in my broody breaker. I keep fresh water and lots of food in front of them, and I can usually tell by how their are eating, and how they are "talking" if they are out of it. If I think they are, then that night after dark, I take them out of the broody breaker, and put them back in the coop on their favorite roost. SO FAR, this has worked and they show normal behavior in the morning, scratching and pecking with the rest of the flock. I have a little Sexlink hen who is determined to brood. I just had to search for her yesterday and found her well hidden on a dozen eggs (no wonder I'm not getting any). This is the second time she's gone broody in about 4 months. She might be a challenge.
