do I worry if 9 week old chicks eating newspaper? (x-post)

I have whole sheets of newspaper in their new coop (just moved in last night, late) along with wood shavings. They are eating the newspaper; it is getting ripped up a bit with their scratching, and I've been watching them grab strips and run with them and steal them from each other as if the newspaper strips were yummy worms. They are also pecking little bits off the edges and gulping them down.

Should I remove the newspaper? Is this normal, or do I have the 11 most-knuckleheaded pullets on the planet? Help!

They have 12 lbs of feed and gallons of fresh, cool water.
