Just when I thought I was confident regarding feed I find myself asking another question!
Do I need to supplement with "grit" if pullets have access to 1/4acre paddock area with lots of grass and a small wildflower garden.
Thanks again!

Not usually in that large an area. Depends on how many you have though. If you have a lot of birds a little grit thrown out there wouldn't hurt.

Free range chickens or ones with a fair size lot shouldnt need grit. They naturaly scratch and get pebbles and stuff. If you are using them layer birds It might be beneficial though to keep a little dish of free choice oyster shell.I am getting ready to mount 3 little boxes outside my coop's now since some of the girl's are laying for oyster shell treat's.
