Do quail eggs crack like chicken eggs?

They dont sell quail eggs at my local grocery stores, so i havent had them until i got my own flock. I know the shells of the eggs my flock lay are strong, because i watched one of my quail lay an egg on a rock and it didnt break. But when i try to crack the eggs, it seems like the membrane is super strong?? Even if the shell cracks i have to cut/tear the membrane to get the yolk out. I know they make egg scissors, so is this why?

My chicken eggs are hard to crack and have a strong membrane, I would say you are feeding your Quail proper nutrition and they are laying strong healthy eggs.

Yes, that's why there are quail scissors. The eggs do not crack as cleanly as chicken eggs.
