Do Silkies Roost

A silkie should always have a buddy to sleep with. They do not like to roost and cannot fly up to roosts that are high. When younger they like a low roost to perch on. I always recommend at least two silkies together to keep each other warm in the winter.

My Silkies roost underneath my table on my back porch, lol. They are BIG snugglers and look like a ball of fur at night.

I think sometimes Silkies don't roost because their big crests and beards obscure their vision. If you cut them back - they are usually much more agile, tho they don't like to be HIGH up.
