Do the hens miss a missing rooster?

We have noticed a drop in eggs since we had to get rid of 2 of 4 roosters. We have 10 hens and we thought they would be elated - they are no longer getting gang banged ?? One was the Alpha rooster which they liked but I didn't care for because he attacked me every chance he got. I feel relieved and guilty at the same time. Would that cause a drop in egg laying? Went from 8 to 5 eggs a day in about 4 days. Made sure they aren't laying anywhere in the yard.

Chickens don't do well with change of any kind, and sometimes that can affect production. You have nothing to feel guilty about. Give them some time, they'll come around again.
