Our ducks have gone in with the chickens and as everyone knows, they make a mess with the water. We currently have a waterer and a pool outside, and a waterer inside with the food. They normally get locked up from 8 to 8 and by the time the go to bed, their food is always empty. Is it necessary to have a waterer in the coop for the chickens? I know the ducks should have water at all times so I was thinking that I could get a ceramic bowl and put a lid on it so that they can stick their heads in it. I guess the chickens would have access to this in the mornings, and they hardly go in during the day anyways. No mater if they have water there in the morning, they always make a stampede straight to the kiddie pool. It is pretty funny to see 18 chickens sitting on the sides drinking, and two mallards in it splashing around.
