We've had our 4 young ladies for 2 weeks now (2 are 5 months old, and 2 are 6 months old...only one is laying). All but one are very tame and friendly. Sometimes when we approach they'll give us a little squat and hold their wings out a bit, and let us pet them. They really seem to love it, and one in particular arches her back and rubs her behind (lower back) hard against our hands, while fluffing her neck feathers up. My aunt says she thinks she's being serviced by a rooster. Is this true, or does she just love being petted? I'm still pretty foggy on all these chicken behaviors.

Also, what's the best way to pet/scratch a hen. Where do they like it best?

Thanks,

Leah
