Ok, so I'm fully aware that chickens don't typically lay clutches of eggs then go broody, but birds like guineas or peafowl do lay clutches. So where do turkeys fall? I have a meat hen whose earned her stay by laying daily, but recently I've noticed she's really protective of her eggs while laying, stay a long time on her nest (really just a dirt pile... She's a genius) and will accept more eggs. So is this just her being odd, or does she want to get a clutch? I wanted to use her older eggs and make a clutch, then it dawned on me we only had 1, haha.
If she does want to make a clutch, she weighs roughly 40 lbs, do you think she could hatch or raise anything? LOL
