Do you bother reading all of the posts in a thread before you post in it yourself? Why?

If the thread is the sort that's likely to become a big messy fight, I read it all because it could be very entertaining. Then I try to force myself to not add a post of my own, and often fail.
If it's a more friendly discussion, I read the most recent ten or so posts before adding my thoughts.

If I just love the folks, i often read back, sometimes all the way to the beginning. other threads, even my regulars, I don't always catch up. If its immense, um, no.

same with me but I usually try to read all the posts, but then again I only post in forums with under 200 posts unless I am there for more.

I do the same, but I do not add anything. I sit on my hands.

Some things are just so crazy you cant grasp you are reading it.

So I keep it zipped on those.

I do enjoy the friendlier posts and the helpful topics.
