Do you clean poop off your hens??

One of my hens must got pooped on and it is all over her back...do you wash it off or will it just wear off? Yuck!

I've only had this happen a couple times but I just take a wet paper towel and clean off as much as I can.

Sometimes my chickens get a little grubby, but I haven't tried washing them yet! I'd use a damp washcloth or paper towel and just try to wipe it off.

No... but if I see a "hanging chad" on one of them.....I pull it off.

I have some large Brahmas that don't roost at night, they huddle up in the corner of the coop, so of course they are regularly getting "bombed" by the others. If it's too bad, I will clean it off. Otherwise, I just let them do it themselves.

Thanks everyone! I noticed her dust bathing today so I guess unless it gets too bad they just take care of themselves
