So my mallard is about 5 weeks, almost fully feathered and big enough that she chases the cats now instead of the other way around. She follows me everywhere EXCEPT past the front door. Shouldn't she want to be outside? Am I going to have to force her out there?

you might have to force her.. my ducks are 6 months old and still inside.. till next week when babies come.. yesss i a have a broody duck on eggs In my room LOL... when they were about a month old or so, i took them outside to play.. they waited by the door to go back inside... instead of playin in the grass they sat on the cemet by the door

Ours had to be forced outside. They still sometimes try to sneak in if I leave the back door open. The remember which room their brooder was in and will go back there.
