Do you let you Call Ducks free rang???

I personally don't free range my calls, but they have a 6' x 10' dog kennel they share with my seramas, so they have plenty of space to exercise and even fly a little if they want.

I would be too afraid to lose my calls to predators, personally, or that they would maybe fly too far.

I have 2 free ranging call ducks that hang out with a cayuga. I'm on a waiting list for some white calls that I won't allow to free range. They'll have a pen that'll be 10x14 once it's complete, so they should have plenty of room.

Mine free range... but it's in a fenced in area with lots of cover, plus the goats and the chickens are all there too... Does that count as free range? They are SUPER QuAckie if I leave them in their pen too long....

would probably drive my neighbors out of their minds... lol!

I don't let my calls free range. We have way too many hawks and other sky predators around here. I had a young drake carried away by a large bird awhile ago and I never want to see that happen again...

Mine are in a large pen with a pool, shed and strong roof. =]

How high is your fence? I have chickens and other ducks in the fenced in backyard, but on the low side its only 3 feet high. Cant the calls get over that?????
I do have pen for them that is 4x6x4( I just dont have it at the hous yet) but my hubby thinks thats to small 2!

I have a 4 ft fence (just regular field fence).. they CAN fly over it, but I have clipped several of their flight feathers--which you CAN do, even if you plan to show them. I think I only did the first 3 on the right of the female and the left on the male. I have to look up the info every time tho--I can never remember which side to do. That's enough to keep them from being able to actually go over the fence--but they still have a little flight-ability
