Do you need a special candeler for Marans eggs

Hi,
Newbie here. I just got my incubator. I am wanting BC Marans. I was having the farmer lady down the road hatch Marans for me. She hasn't gotten the eggs yet.

I don't want to incubate two sets of chickens, because I have to keep the different flocks apart, right. I have a large shop to do this, but it is one large space. Incubating my own would stop all the third party confusion.



I thought I might try incubating the Marans eggs myself.

Do I need to have a special candeler? I have spent SOO much $ so far on this quest for chickens, that I really wanted to just put a lamp in a box. Is it going to work?

I love your input and suggestions.

A good LED flashlight should work fine.
Make sure you're in a dark room.
I also have the Brinsea OvaScope, and it works fine for my Marans eggs.
