Hello everyone i was just wondering if once you take the real eggs do you need to put fake ones in there place. Thanks

Sometimes the golf balls get moved by the girls-!But it works for my girls too(especially the silkies-they are SOOO broody!)

We only used fake eggs (golf balls) in the nest boxes to teach the girls where to lay their eggs. Once the girls began laying in the boxes, the golf balls were removed, for good.

Hope this helps!

i have to try the golfball trick because my lay in the run and its annoying squeezing into a 3 foot run to get the eggs

I always use golfballs to get my hens to go broody...they don't even know the difference lol

I don't have any golf balls handy, nor did I want to buy them. I added speckled plastic easter eggs to our nests instead. My daughter put a few rocks in each one for weight. They finally started using the nests instead of the floor of the coop after that.
