I have 3 americaunas, 1 spangled hamburg, 1 buff orpington (?) and 1 black australorp(?) that are around 14 weeks old. They all are very friendly but I just can't tell their gender for sure because I'm new to chickens. Any help would be appreciated. Also, can an someone tell me for sure what the buff and the black chickens are? I think they are an australorp and a buff orpington but they came free from a feed store when I bought a 25 lb bag of food so I'm just not 100% sure.

I think you have the breeds correct and they all appear to be pullets. The only correction I will offer is that The Ameracauna are probably actually Easter Eggers. To be an Ameracauna they have to be of a certain set of colors and have slate legs. The EEs do lay pretty green eggs though so you will have plenty of eggs and variety with your breeds.

I've been hoping that I wouldn't have a rooster because we live in a town where they are prohibited within city limits. We bought them as day old chicks and would hate to have to rehome one of them. We bought the "americaunas" from a feed store that said they were pullets from ideal hatchery here in Oregon so they probably are EE but I adore them either way. Thank you so much for your help.

most breed usually lay between 4-6 months old.It varies a little.I have two chickens that didnt lay until they were 11 months old but they were just really really late starters.

Awesome!I better set up some nesting boxes within the next few weeks. My kids are gonna be stoked when we find the first egg :)
