HI Everyone.

I've been sprouting for my family & my african grey, Levi for some time now. I haven't yet sprouted for the chickies. I'm interested in your success or not with offering your chickens sprouts. Also, which ones your flock likes & dislikes. This way I won't waste anytime growing sprouts they will reject. I do have a bird mixture, I bought from the 'Spout People' for Levi. https://sproutpeople.org I'll have to look into the exact ingredients to see if that is safe for the chickens. It's safe for parrots. But, I've learned what's safe for parrots isn't ALWAYS safe for Chickens & vice-versa.

Thanks in advance for your input. 😊

Yes mine love sprouts! Ive sprouted wheat berries, lentils, mung beans, alfalfa and broccoli! I think there’s also ‘chick mix’ sprouting seed packs that you can get to sprout for chickens or grow in fodder trays. I don’t sprout wheat berries anymore since I grow them in grazing boxes for the chickens but they love the other things I sprout too.

OOOO, I'm going to look for that, thank you!

Great, I'm going to start sprouting for them. I'll start with lentils, as they are Levi's (my parrots) favorite. Thanks again!! 😊

I love microgreens and sprout this broccoli seed mix from Amazon. I also sprout sunflower seeds. Sunflower sprouts are my favorite because they're so nutty! And pea shoots are yummy too.

That said, my chickens only like the sunflower sprouts! I've tried the broccoli mix sprouts 4-5 different times and they just look at it and walk away, then I find a sad little pile of wilted sprouts the next day.

I'm going to look into a chicken specific mix though, because honestly, and embarrassingly, it never occurred to me to sprout grains... lol
