Do you think chickens would bother Desert Tortoises?

I have a pretty good sized pen for my two desert tortoises and was thinking of letting my Cochin roo hang out with them instead of sitting in the box stall by himself.
He's so isolated in the boxstall...at least in the other pen he can watch the world around him. This is just for a couple of hours a day to give him variety. The coop
and run aren't finished...kinda put the rooster before the horse.

H'mmmm... I know that chickens are attracted to moving things. I'd be afraid of the roo pecking at the tortoises' heads and eyes.

We have gopher tortoises here in Florida and my birds have paid them no attention whatsoever.
