I have been hatching some of my own oegb eggs lately. First batch I set was to make sure my bator was going ok and no issues, all hatched by day 19. I am on my second batch, shipped ameraucana eggs, and mine are pipped on day 19

. None of the ameraucana are pipped, but they are alive, I checked yesterday when they went to the hatcher. I always set some of my own eggs now so if I have a singleton hatch from shipped eggs I don't have to go to the feed store to get chicks for company

anyone else have their banties hatch earlier?

I wouldn't I still put them in lock down on day 18 and that hasnt been a problem...

I was told by the seller that I should put my Silkie eggs into lockdown and stop turning them on day 17th, Not 18 so I set my other eggs and set the Silkie eggs a day later so they could hatch at the same time!

I think it's mostly to do with temp in the incubator, but I'm not sure. I know if you have you're temps continusously a little higher (like 101 vs. 99.5) then the chicks will develop faster therefore they can hatch a little early. I know with my first batch of oegb bantams I had my temps at exactly 99.5 and I didn't get a hatch until day 22. Then my last hatch I kept my temps at 101 and the 2 that actually hatched, hatched on day 19 and 20. I would guess it's the temps.
