y'see I have a theory on cats...
you always need a kitten, because they're entertaining
and if you have a 1 yr old cat, that kitten will have someone to play with
and if you have a yr old and a kitten, those two will keep the rest more active (by playing with or annoying them) and that helps keep the older cats healthy.
so.
every year add one kitten.
cats live 12-15 years, so you should top out around 12-15 cats, on average.
that's my theory.
and then a couple of months ago my hubby rescued 3 starving kittens.
this could totally skew the process.
-----------------
ok, relatively speaking, I'm not totally nuts.
my grandmother had about 30, and my great aunt had more than 30 that were indoors only... and who knows how many ferals and neighborhood cats she fed outside...
I think I'm doing pretty well, considering.
