Do your chickens free range every day?

After the neighbours dog killed our sweet speckled Sussex, ours are only out when my neighbour is home and his dog is tied up (I text him before I let them out to make him aware). They have a good sized run but it doesn’t get a lot of sun, so I like to let them out into the sun when I can!

Once ours are full grown, I plan on free ranging mine in a similar manner: when we're home for the day and when all dogs around are tied up. I'm curious what others do (especially those who work 50+ hour weeks like myself).

mine are out all day everyday I live out in the country, although I am worried about putting new Young chickens in because the last time I did our newest dog killed it ( needs to be trained) she was the sweetest thing ever because she was the only chick that hatched so I hand raised her , her name was Pippin and she was just like a parrot :hit:(

As long as your run is big enough, chickens are content to be in their run. Sure, they want out if their used to free ranging, so does my dog. Doesnt mean its safe though.
I let mine out if im home and call them in when i need them back in their run.

Free ranging is fine as long as they stay on your property and you don’t mind losing chickens to the inevitable predators.

I free range mine every day. Have had them for 8 months. Nothing has ever attacked them because I have 4 very protective and large roos.
