Do your chickens talk back to you?

I have a newbie question for all of you chicken veterans. I have two Wyandotte girls, they are about 9 weeks now. Hazel the black laced seems to try and imitate the noises that I make at them in the morning when cleaning and feeding them, or whenever I chat with the girls.

When I want to get their attention, I make kissy noises at them (don't laugh someone else has to do that too). Hazel seems to have her version of kissy noises that she makes back as she waddles over. I even caught her making them at the hubby, he was giving out treats at the time. Such a flirt!

My question is; is she imitating me or am I just crazy?

Thanks =)

I like to think my chickens are imitating me too. Me and my chickens will have 'conversations' while I am doing chores or cleaning the coop. Maybe she thinks, "Hey, maybe that noise is what humans say for hello."
