I have gotten several large foam coolers free from work, and was thinking about trying to make hatchers or incubaters out of them. I think that I could do the heat, but not sure about the fan.

My first year teaching we purchased a still air styrofoam incubator. Our hatch was terrible, and the year after that, too (10-15%).

We added a fan the third year, and had an 85% hatch.

The forced air is more forgiving if the temp fluctuates or something external happens...keeps the air temperature more stable. And believe me, it is much more fun incubating when you do not have to check the bator so often for temp, etc.
