Does an extra chick mean I need an extra nest?

I built a nice little coop for 5 chicks with one nest box. Well they sent me 6 chicks & all are thriving.

Does this push me over the limit, should I add a second nest box?

You'll probably want a second nest box and if they're big hens, a third...

All my hens usually just lay in one or two, so I don't think you need to worry about adding on.

We have 18 hens 5 nest box and eggs are only in 2-3 nest box every day. I think you are fine. They just take turns laying !!!!

I have 33 laying and they all lay in 3 places sometimes 4. I think you will be fine with one or two boxes.

nah...its one per 5-6 hens...if some start to lay on the floor...add another 1
