Does anyone else’s rooster do this?

So I have a lovely rooster who is about a year old and in the past week or se I have noticed that he loves to lay on eggs. He is not sick or anything.
He just hops ito the nest box right after a hen has layed the egg and then he just lays on it for about an hour and then he goes on with his day.
Have anyone tried this with their rooster before?

Making sure his chicks to be are well cared for. This guy is a keeper!

Sometimes I find my roosters in the nestboxes to show their hens a safe place to lay their eggs, but more often they will stand right in front of the nestbox entertaining the hen inside with a little chat while keeping watch over them.

I have also been thinking that, he always watches and stands right by the hen laying, so mabye he just wanted to know what it felt like
