Hi all I know that this post is old however I wanted to share what I do to prevent or alarm me of fires in my coop if there were one. I bought two of the indoor outdoor thermometer digital displays that have a sensor to place outside and a Nice little display screen inside. I placed one 2 feet up from the floor and one up by the ceiling of the coop and on the screen display settings it allows you to set an alarm on many of them that alerts you when the temperature gets above or below a certain point. Can be very helpful for multiple things but if the temperature for instance gets above 80° mine starts beeping profusely in the house only not in the coop and it alerts me because I have to acknowledge the alarm to turn it off. Also alerts me if the temperature dips below 30° in the coop, And all of the settings are customizable. Would highly recommend anyone with a barn or outdoor shed that they keep any live animals in to try out this method. One other tip that helps me being a busy mother/duck mom is a morning and night alarm that goes off every day to let the ducks out and to let the ducks in to make sure that I do it before it’s completely dark out and to make sure I let them out nice and early.
