Does anyone have East African Crowned Cranes?

i just love the look of these cool birds. Wondering if anyone has them or has information on how to care for them, their temperament, etc. i did find Murray McMurray sells them, but they are currently sold out.

Any information would be most appreciated.

i was just looking into what cool birds we might add to our mini zoo, and these guys looked very beautiful. i also like the Victorian Crowned Pigeons, but since i don't have a spare $3k, i have passed on them as an option.

A pair of them would probably run you $2000-2500, so are you really that interested?

They require a lot of room, atleast a 20 x 30 pen, 50 x 50 is about ideal. They would need a good tight shelter, ours here in Kansas have an insulated building that we can heat in the winter.

Then they won't breed until they are 5 years old.

If you just have some chickens and birds like that I would recommend getting a pair of red golden pheasants to add some color. Or maybe something like the mandarin ducks, which are very colorful and neat birds.
