I just got two ducklings today. Is there any way to tell the difference between the male and the female without venting? (I tried that and i guess they aren't old enough) It looks like they're just a few days old. They seem to be rouen or mallard ducklings

The only way to tell besides venting is waiting until they are older. Females should have louder quacks. And if they are male they will have different colored feathers around 15 weeks. Males should also develops one or a few curled tail feathers

Yea, determining gender for birds is a pain because usually by the time you get them you can only vent sex which is not suggested by some and can be hard to tell any way
I’ve read in chicks you can tell by feather length on the wings, but it’s still pretty hard for me to see the difference.
