i have a young chick. I'm aware that her mom is a silkie but I donno what breed the father may have been. She started out all black and has now started to grow in brown chest and neck fathers. Any ideas?

In picture 2, with the tablecloth in the background, it looked like your girl had a really cool head dress or hair bow on. :)
 
My Asian Blues started off either completely black or black with a some white/yellow fluff on their chest. As they matured, the light colors disappeared, and a similar brown has appeared on their chest, around the neck, and some on the back.

With the Asian Blues, there's a lot of variety in coloring mixes with the black and the brown. The feet are black or a black mix.

An austrolorp would have completely black feet and black legs (top, bottom, and side) and should have a completely black coat of feathers, comb, and eyes.
 
So many breeds can start out black. She is most likely out of a clean leg rooster, as she has sparse leg feathering. Farther than that its about going to be impossible to know for sure.
