Of course who doesn't, a store bought crust is just wrong hehe. My DW makes great looking lattice cherry pies, my fav of course.

Pie Crust (never fails me)
Ingredients:
(9 inch pie shell)
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup shortening
3-4 Tablespoons cold water

For a 9 inch two crust pie:
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup shortening
7-8 Tablespoons cold water

Directions: Put flour and salt in bowl mix together. Add shortening and cut it in with your fingers or knife till it resembles small particles. Add cold water 1 Tablespoon at a time and mix well together till it forms a ball. Divide (if double) and roll on floured surface.

I'm a pie maker myself. I'm with Katy, the crisco recipe is what I use. If you a making fruit pies, get creative and add sugar, cinnamon,or whatever to the crust when making it.

super easy breezy, lemon squeezy recipe:

2 C. AP flour
1/2 tsp. Salt
1/3 C. Buttermilk
2/3 C. Vegetable oil

mix dry ingredients in bowl. add wet ingredients, mix until just blended evenly.

divide. roll out between two pieces of wax paper.
fit onto pie pan.

that's all there is to it. my family loves this crust. it has lot's of flavor, good flaking and excellent on the 'ease' factor.

check my signature line, it'll assure you that the recipe will be tasty!
