Hi there,
I've been raising Monarchs, Anise & Swallowtail caterpillars from eggs to flight for five or so years. I find the eggs on hostplants, bring in cuttings and host them with soil and sticks in mesh cages kept under a gazebo with skylights. I've a fair bit of experience with the enemies of Monarchs -- OE, tachenid fly, black death, wasps and spiders. Today one of my cats began its wiggling "J Dance" to create its chrysalis, but after hours of its vigorous dancing efforts, the chrysalis hasn't formed yet. Because it is still making such earnest effort I'm not considering euthanizing at this moment. Has anyone ever seek anything like this?
