I just saw it at our local feed store and it is a couple dollars cheaper than the feed I'm using right now (Sprout Layer from Fleet Farm). The thing is, I really like the feed I'm using – it's not too dusty, and they seem to be thriving on it. Hubbard Layer is one percent more protein, and I think a couple percent higher in fiber. Is this good/bad?

I buy my feed from Fleet farm in Lakeville MN. Their sprout chick starter is only 18% protein. I buy the Sprout Meat Maker 21% protein crumble for chicks and all the adults. I like a higher protein level as they really thrive on it. They feather out and maintain their feathers beautifuly. I just bought 2 bags of Kent homefresh poultry 27% feed from the Lonsdale feed store. I mix the Sprout Meat Maker 21% with the 27% Kent at a ratio of 50/50. That gives me a protein level around 23 or24%. when they reach point of lay I will probably feed sprout egg maker mixed also with the Kent 27%. however probably a 60/40 ratio. (60 layer and 40 Kent) Gotta keep their protein up !! Then Oyster shell free choice. Where do you live?
