Saw this white spot on my boy's comb that wasn't there yesterday. What could it be? They were in the run all day due to the rain here so he wouldn't have been able to get into anything. I can get better pics if needed, I just didn't want him to get suspicious of me picking him up more often than usual in case I need to start treating him for something later.

Yuck, I just saw a pic of something similar on another rooster that ended up being ringworm. Someone please tell me that's not what this is :barnie

Looks like the start of Favus which is simple to treat. Just need an antifungal cream that has clotrimazole in it. Most common cream that has the ingredient is athlete's foot cream.

Ringworm is the samething as Favus. Just a different name for the fungal infection.

You're welcome.

Apply it at least 2-3 times a day until the infection is gone.
Should I be worried about the rest of the flock? I had a ringworm spot months ago and I worried that I got it from them, but I never saw any signs of it until now and I made sure not to handle them while I had it. I'm going to change the bedding in the coop and the run is raked daily anyway.

I'd just watch them, see if any of them start showing.

I checked the other rooster too and he had it on the insides of his wattles, so they both got a good slathering and really seemed to enjoy the massage. I have no-mess feeders that they have to stick their heads into for food so I'll be removing those till they're cleared up as well. Thanks again for your help!!!
