Does one always feel a lump in an egg bound chicken?

I gave my one hen a chicken spa but when I went to massage her there was no egg mass...

does this mean she may have something else wrong?

You need to put on some gloves, lube your finger with KY Jelly and gently check inside her vent for an egg. If it's there, you'll be able to feel it.
