We are trying to save this egg as it might be the last surviving one. The mother hen and all the other eggs got attacked and died. I don’t have an incubator, so we put it under a heat lamp. We are keeping the temp around 99° to 100°. We are completely new to this! Any advice would be very helpful! From all of the pictures I looked at online it seems like it could hatch any day if it’s still alive. Please help!

Does anyone think it has a chance hatching under the heat lamp? Also, does anyone have any recommendations on a reasonably priced incubator on amazon?

17-18 days still alive looks healthy too
When they pass away inside it’s called DIS (dead in shell before hatch) and all the contents detach from the shell wall and swish around loosing all the nice veins and healthy tissue that you see upon candling a live chick inside the egg. Hope this helps and keep doing what you are doing but raise the humidity to at least 65%

Thank you so much for responding! What do you recommend me doing to raise humidity? I unfortunately do not have an incubator. I am doing this in a brooder with a heat lamp. Should I mist the egg with water? Should I leave a bowl of water in there or a wet sponge?

I ended up putting a humidifier in the room with it. This is so nerve-racking I hope this egg makes it!
